Finally my Jeep is approved for use in Norway.
But the Vegvesen gave me very big "bilskilt" THAT DON'T FIT
Does anybody know where I can buy normal "lite smalt 850 x 303 mm" plates
Thanks, Michel

You can't :(
You MUST apply for permission to use the small license plate, but don't hold your breath. MAYBE you'll get it. I did, but many others did not. For no other reason that the commisar on duty didn't want to. If you try to do it unofficially, you might get into trouble. Do not try to get a plate from any other source than the official.
Welcome to Norway.

Actually, you can...
For a vehicle older than 30 years you can buy license plates that was right for the year when the car was first registrated.
But if the car had a Norwegian serial approval that says what kind of plates to use, you have to go by that. For your car there was no such approval. You can call for example Lator Skiltfabrikk (55 36 26 90) and order plates like they was in 1979. You can choose the size, from the different sizes that was used in 1979.
Welcome to Norway :)

Yes, but I would have preferred plates that are legal. I dont think Lator is that much expensive..
