http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/showthread.php?t=109041Getting the steering wheel controls fully functioning on the WJ.Connect the system steering wheel wire to the raw output of the steering wheel controls of the vehicle. Which mean you intercept the signal before it reaches the PCI system. Open the steering wheel enclosure (one screw from the bottoms part of the enclosure). Locate the yellow/red wire on one of the harnesses. Cut it and connect the end that comes out of the plug to the stereo's steering wheel control. If you don't cut the yellow/red wire, but just splice the stereo wire to the existing lume, things won't work.
Once the connection is made, follow the stereo standard procedure to map the buttons:
After the cables connection, press 8 on the remote control then press SETUP before you turn on the player.
Use the remote control, it will turn on automatically, and get into steering wheel control setting.
There is a KEY TYPE on the screen, press VOL+ the car model, if there is no model for your car, use USER to set up by yourself.
OR (if it doesn`t work):
Turn on the unit. Click on options icon then factory. Type 666666 and enter. Now it is at the steering wheel control setup interface.
Lets take Vol- for example. First, press the Vol- on the factory steering wheel control. Don’t let it go. Then click on the Vol- on the touch screen. Press them continuously at the same time. You will see the numbers are changing. Keep pressing until the changing stops. Then set other buttons like this. When all set is done, press SAVE SET. Then reset the unit after the OK icon comes out. Now you can use the steering wheel control.
Solving caution message problemThe CAUTION message is a safety feature that prevents you from watching the DVD while the car is in motion. It could be disabled either in the software (888888 in the factory menu on my unit) or you can connect the wire on the units harness marked BRAKE CONTROL to an earth.
